The Grandstream GDS3705 Dubai IP Door Phone has a durable zinc alloy metal casing, making it weatherproof and vandal-resistant. It offers alarm-in and alarm-out support for integration with existing security devices. The device integrates with Grandstream’s free management software, GDS Manager, allowing full management of RFID card information and the device itself. In networks without a DHCP server or where the Grandstream GDS3705 Dubai cannot obtain an IP address from the DHCP server, users can connect the GDS3705 directly to a computer using a static IP for configuration. For environments such as remote warehouses, grocery stores, or small restaurants, a LAN can be formed using a static IP with a PoE switch and Grandstream’s GXP21XX/17XX/16XX series audio phones. This setup meets basic intercom and door-opening needs and offers an upgrade to traditional analog intercom systems, requiring only a power source, a switch or PoE switch, and Grandstream audio phones.

For large deployments requiring multiple GDS3705 units, an IPPBX or a SIP Proxy is necessary as peered connections are not feasible. When connecting the GDS3705 to a door strike, it is recommended to use an EMF protection diode in reverse polarity for secure operation. Ensure that the GND of the Wiegand device is connected to the GDS3705 Wiegand port. In Wiegand input mode, LED and Beep pins require the Wiegand device to support these interfaces, but they will not affect the Wiegand bus if not connected.

If the power source is 12VDC, the Wiegand device can share the same power source as the GDS3705. However, users must verify the maximum power consumption and capacity of the power source. If the Wiegand device uses 5VDC, the GDS3705 Wiegand port can provide 5VDC with a maximum of 500mA to power the Wiegand device. When the GDS3705’s Wiegand output is connected, it acts as the signal receiver for third-party Wiegand devices, connecting to a door controller. The primary wiring includes GND, D0, and D1. Due to the high current and power consumption of door controllers, a separate power supply is recommended.
