The Avaya J179-TSG Dubai IP Phone is an enhanced version of the standard J179, seamlessly connecting to your network just like its predecessor. However, it boasts the distinctive feature of Positive Disconnect On-Hook Security, offering an added layer of protection. This security feature allows on-hook security functions to be active even during a call, providing “Hold” and “Mute” security. With special positive-disconnect circuitry and ultra-low-emissions technology, the phone ensures that no audio signals from the microphone are transmitted through any wires when the phone is on-hook.

In situations where Power over Ethernet is unavailable, the phone can be powered through a local supply using the phone’s barrel connector, which provides filtered operating power. The device also includes speakerphone functionality, which is safeguarded by the on-hook security of the positive disconnect electronics. This feature can be administratively disabled via the Avaya Aura Communication Manager if necessary.
